I used to bring my daughter there and we were very unhappy to find the ugly depression on the ground where it once stood was a disappointing experience - the end of something.
My Rome apartment in the 70s was next to the Castello, -Via Alberico II-and we would read the Sunday papers and have our caffe and cornetto at the bar on the terrace with views of San Pietro and the gardens surrounding the monumental structure. Thanks for the memories!
Thank you for this beautiful love letter. I was so sad when they moved the The Girandola to Piazza del
Popolo. The few years I got to see those fireworks designed by Michelangelo were unforgettable

One of my very favorite places in my beloved Roma, I love walking in that area and inhaling all that beauty it makes me calm and joyful

Great pictures. I’ve walked past here so many times and still haven’t been inside. I definitely need to do that next time I’m in Rome.
